Genetics: Alaskan Ice is a Sativa leaning hybrid cross of White Widow x Haze.

Appearance: Icy. Thick, chunky buds that vary in color – some are green and some are purple. White with trichomes.

Smell: Like a woodsy, piney car air freshener.

Taste: Piney and clean. Fun, thick smoke

Daniel’s 1-hit Review: I got videos of this Alaskan Ice before I got it, so there was some hype with how white it was. This is another nepo baby strain of 2 high powered legends – White Widow and Haze. White Widow has been one my my personal favorites since the first time I got a good version of it in the early 2000s.

Visually, this Alaskan Ice looks like an indica. The buds are round, knobby, and very dense. In fact, I would’ve have guessed indica genetics if I wasn’t told otherwise. I suppose that it could be at least 30% indica from the Widow.

Regardless of the indica/sativa debate, the effects are great. They were giggly and creative, but never veered towards anxious or uncomfortable. For whatever reason, AMC is doing a Denzel centric movie marathon because they were playing The Equalizer 1 and 2 and then Unstoppable. These are all easy to watch in the background movies, so they’ve been on while I’ve been testing these new strains and this Alaskan Ice helped me to put some things together.

In Equalizer 1, Denzel worked at Home Depot. In Equalizer 2, he was a Lyft driver. He was a train driver in Unstoppable. Yall see the pattern here? I haven’t seen Equalizer 3, but I hope he’s a garbage truck driver that puts the bad guys in the back and compacts them. If I weren’t so busy, I’d go look at all his movies and see how many we was a regular Joe on the DL. I know this wasn’t the case in American Gangster, Book of Eli, or Training Day. American Gangster was a good movie.

The Alaskan Ice was very clear headed, but giggly, because I couldn’t stop thinking about how stupid Unstoppable was. I also couldn’t stop laughing at how stupid it was. It all started when the movie showed the local news discussing the runaway train and showed a picture of the conductor who got off the train and forgot to turn it off. The pic was a slack jawed Ethan Suplee who looked exactly like a guy who’d forget to turn off a train.

From there, it was just silly how they referred to the train as if it were a sentient being dead set on wrecking Scranton PA. One guy said, “We’ll put down these derailers and the train won’t know what hit it.” Yeah. He wasn’t 7 years old. This was an adult man. I’m sure he named his car.

You may see a Denzel theme in these 1 hit reviews because I was watching Equalizer 1 during my test of Cadillac Gas.

I’m sensitive to sativa induced anxiety, but Alaskan Ice must have enough indica to prevent it because I got all the fun of sativa – creative, giggly, alert – without the anxiety that sometimes comes with them.

This one hits strong right away. Similar to the Bull Run, but not as spacey (to me).
