We will educate you on cannabis basics. You will learn important cannabis definitions, effects of the cannabinoids, and many of the medicinal properties of cannabis (very carefully because we can’t legally make medical claims).
Better Than Nine combines Science and Technology to Unleash the Natural Power of Cannabis.

Scientifically, all the above terms refer to the same thing, the cannabis plant. The government defines hemp as a cannabis sativa plant with less than .3% delta 9 THC that is cultivated under a Hemp License. Marijuana, pot, weed, ganja, reefer, etc. are slang terms for cannabis with more than .3% D9 THC.
We make Better Than Nine’s products using hemp extracts. The 2018 U.S. Farm Bill made Hemp and hemp extracts containing less than .3% delta 9 THC Federally legal to sell in all 50 States. Several states have attempted to pass laws criminalizing delta 8 THC, but all these laws are nullified when challenged in court because Federal laws supersede state laws. I’ve written several blog posts discussing this, so check out our blog if you’d like to read about this in more detail.
Cannabinoids (phytocannabinoids in this instance) are naturally occurring compounds produced by the cannabis plant. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) are the two that everyone’s heard of, but there are lots more – CBC, CBG, CBN, THCV, CBDV… Many people don’t know this, but the natural state of cannabinoids is in the form of a cannabinoid acid. For instance, cannabis produces tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCa), not THC. Cannabinoid acids are converted to their respective cannabinoid through a process called decarboxylation. It’s called decarboxylation because it removes a carboxylic acid, so you’re literally de-carboxylating it. Get it? Decarboxylation is heating the cannabinoid acid to a temperature that ‘burns off’ the carboxyl group (COOH).
Fun Fact: THCa is not psychoactive because the carboxylic acid prevents the compound from crossing the blood-brain barrier. This means that if you ate a bag of green cannabis buds, you would not get high. However, when cannabis is smoked or baked into food, the heat decarbs it and activates its psychoactive properties.
What are the effects and therapeutic properties of the
Cannabidiol (CBD)
Cannabigerol (CBG)
Cannabichromene (CBC)
Delta-8 Tetrahydrocannabinol (D8 THC)
Delta-9 Tetrahydrocannabinol (D9-THC)
Delta-10 Tetrahydrocannabinol (D10-THC)
Tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV)
Cannabidivarin (CBDV)
A few notes about the cannabinoids.
Short Answer is CBD is not psychoactive and THC will get you high. They both have valuable medicinal properties that target different parts of the parts. You should use them together for the best results. That’s why we don’t do any CBD-only products – They simply aren’t as effective. The long answer gets into organic chemistry and no one will read it, so I’m not gonna write.
Yes. Although all of our products are legal, they still contain THC and will show up on a drug test. Drug tests are not sophisticated enough to distinguish between Hemp THC and Marijuana THC (because it’s the same molecule). Drug tests are also not sophisticated enough to distinguish between different THC isomers – D8, D9, D10.
Yes – generally speaking. Assuming that your CBD is free of pesticides, herbicides, heavy metals, etc, CBD has shown ZERO toxicity when used responsibly ~ less than 1000mg/day. Studies have shown CBD can be toxic when used stupidly – IV or 10,000 mg doses. Be smart with everything you use.
Cannabidiol (CBD) works with several different receptor groups that activate anti-inflammatory activity. It is also an anti-oxidant, anti-ischemic in tumors, and mild immunosuppressant.
Generally Yes. However, we don’t claim that our products are “100% Vegan” because we can’t keep up with what’s considered ‘vegan’ day by day. I have a close relationship with plants and know that plants feel pain and live and die, but I still have to kill them to live.
We don’t use anything animal to make our products, but I won’t claim “Vegan” because some of those people are insane and I don’t want to upset one.
Consult with your doctor. Most likely, Yes. This is not medical advice.
When used as directed, you will feel zero negative side effects from CBD only.
Our products are intended for 21+ Adults. There are very specific and severe juvenile medical conditions that justify giving cannabinoids to children. Better Than Nine does not operate in that space. Our products are intended for responsible and therapeutic adult use. Kid’s shouldn’t use any drugs, including ADHD pills or Anti-depressants. If you have a seriously ill child, consult their doctor about cannabis treatments.
No. CBD only will not get you high.
THCa Flowers are the real deal. They qualify at legal hemp because 1) they are grown under a legal hemp license and 2) They have <.3% D9 THC. Here’s the catch. The cannabis plant doesn’t make Delta 9 THC. It makes Delta 9 THCa, a non-psychoactive form of THC. When you remove the ‘a’, you have THC. This process is called decarboxylation and done quickly with heat.
