High THC is Not the Only Measure of High Quality Flowers

There’s been a THC ‘arms race’ over the last 30 years in the industry. I get it, but it’s kinda dumb because we have pure thca diamonds.

I prefer flowers that have been grown well, so they can express their natural colors, smells, and tastes without being pushed to just make THC. If they come out to 25% THC instead of 35% THC, who really cares? If it’s not strong enough, just smoke more.

I was debating this very point with a store owner recently when he told me that his customers only want the strongest products available. I told him that either he was wrong, didn’t know all his customers, or was missing 80% off the cannabis users. I had to do this respectfully because he’s a customer and a hard headed alpha male. I explained that not all cannabis users are idiots that want to see how high they can get and asked him to think about liquor stores.

I simply asked, “If it was all about getting the strongest, why do liquor stores sell beer, wine, and whiskey and not just Everclear? Why would someone want a 4% hard selzer when they can just drink 100% ethanol?”

He briefly pushed back with, “Alcohol is different. They have different flavors and types.” I nodded in a patronizing and sarcastic manner as he proved my point.

Then, I asked him how many of the THCa Flowers had he smoked and tell me the different tastes and effects. His response didn’t surprise me because I suspected it.

“I don’t use any of this stuff. I just sell it because people buy it and I make money.” Yep. The only people who think the strongest is the best are non-users and rookies. This story has a good ending for both of us because he underestimated the demand for 10mg products and sells a lot of our gummies, but this article is about flowers.

Flowers aren’t about the highest THCa possible. They are about the whole plant. Flowers are about smell, tastes, and different effects.

An analogy that I like to use is flowers are like dogs. They are look different and have different personalities and purposes. You wouldn’t use a Yorkie as a police dog just as you wouldn’t use a German Shepard as a lap dog. They are both great dogs that make great friends, but they are different. Different isn’t bad. Different is what keeps life exciting!

Cannabis flowers are the same. I wouldn’t smoke our Purple Gelonade before bedtime, nor would I smoke Hash Burger before going to the gym. They are both awesome, but they have different uses. I could make analogies ALL DAY.

What car is better – $80k sports car or $80k SUV?

What tool is better – A hammer or a screwdriver?

What pet is better – A dog or a cat? Trick question – the answer is dog. I’m just kidding. I like having fun with cat people 😉

Back to cannabis flowers. I know that many of our clients are veteran smokers and understand what I’m talking about. However, if you choose your flowers strictly on how much THC, I encourage you to start paying attention to how well the flowers are grown. This is when you’ll start understanding the different flavors and effects that makes flowers so awesome.

Remember – if you want something stronger, you can either use more or put THCa Isolate or diamonds on top. Don’t sacrifice flavor for THC!
