Daniel’s 1-hit Review: 7/28/25 UPDATE: This is a new batch. I’ll review it soon. This is a light dep batch from NorCal. It’s very good for the price. It’s BUDget Flowers. You get the best deals on 14g. We can’t do the 3.5g proportionally as cheap because the fixed costs of packaging, labor, and general overhead create a ‘floor’ price for all products regardless of cost.
By now, all of you have tried, or at least heard, of OG Kush. If you haven’t, you need to get some of this because it’s one of those ‘all time’ strains. That’s why it’s been around for at least 20 years and it is still a main stay in all levels of grows. This OG is light deps.
Light deps are grown in a fancy greenhouse.
It stands for light deprivation. These green houses usually have supplemental lights, but mostly use sunlight to grow the plants (there are lots of configurations). The defining feature of light deps are that the greenhouses have black out panels that stop all light from coming in. The purpose of this is to be able to change the light cycles and trick the plants into flowering when you want them to instead of waiting until the sunlight changes with the summer and fall. Instead of one harvest per year, you can get several. The plants don’t get as big, but that’s not a bad trade off for more production without any sacrifice to quality.
Indoor is where the craziest strains come from, but good deps can be just as strong. What I like most about light deps is that they feel a little more ‘organic’ or ‘natural’ than indoor. This isn’t always true, but it should be.
I like this batch of OGK more than the last one. Mostly because the smell and taste are better to me. This has a sharp like flavor that really shines. It can be from either the thai or hindu. The initial smell I got was the chem. This bag wasn’t labeled with name, only a batch number, so I didn’t know the name until I called to match the batch. However, I smelled and said, “Hmmm. This smells like some OG strain.” and it was the OG strain.
I feel like I’ve been doing this too long when I can guess a strain by smelling it. I can tell you herbs are in food by smelling and tasting, so I guess it isn’t that weird. They say that your olfactory sense is the most connected to memories. Personally, Idk. The only people I hear talking about smells they can’t shake are my friends who’ve been cops or military and have smelled a person getting burned alive. They say you don’t forget that. I believe them because I don’t forget the stories they tell me about it, so…let’s go back to happier stuff.
This OGK feels like OGK usually does. It’s got a good sativa kick that woke me up and got me motivated with enough indica to keep me from getting over stimulated and walking around in circles for an hour. You can tell by what and how I’m writing that I’m clean and clear. I can stay on topic and I’m not all over the place. This only took me about 20 minutes to write with a few distractions and I’m still on point and haven’t had to reread to remember what I was saying.
This is definitely sativa dominant. This is good daytime strain. You can sneak this one in during the work day unless you have a job that requires 100% focus and small mistakes has tragic consequences like a surgeon or pilot. Be smart and responsible with everything you do.
Like all our deps, this stuff is excellent for the price.
These beautiful buds qualify as industrial hemp and comply with ALL provisions of the 2018 U.S. Farm Bill. There are 2 legal requirements that a product must meet to be legal hemp:
1 . The cannabis plant must be grown under a Federal Hemp License.
2. The finished product must have less than .3% Delta-9 THC
These flowers comply with both. Look at the attached COA and you’ll see the Delta 9 THC is less than .3%.
Here’s the cool part. The Delta 9 THCa can be over 30%. This is not chemically altered or sprayed with anything. These are legit cannabis buds that are harvested before the D9 THC gets ‘hot’ (over .3%). Delta 9 THC and Delta 9 THCa are very similar compounds. In fact, THCa is a precursor to THC. However, they are 100% different, so the Farm Bill counts this as hemp.
Better Than Nine does not ship THCA flowers to jurisdictions where they are illegal. Please know your local ordinances before ordering or we may not be able to ship to you. Contact us if you have questions.
