Genetics: Strawberry Cheesecake is an indica dominant hybrid cross of GSC and Purple Panty Dropper.

Appearance: Round, medium sized buds that are very light green with light orange pistils. Very occasional lavender spots. White trichomes

Smell: Sweet and sour grape and citrus. Smells awesome (more on this in review).

Taste: sweet and berry, but it doesn’t jump out as much as the smell to me.

Terpene Profile: Limonene, Caryophyllene, Pinene.

Strawberry Cheesecake is a creation of The Humboldt Seed company. Idk this for certain, but they are one of the older US-based breeders that I can think of. Those boys out in Humboldt are crazy. I spent a year in those NorCal mountains in the “Emerald Triangle” and it’s unlike any other place I’ve ever been in the whole.

I’m a sucker for ‘fruit’ strains, so I was excited to see Strawberry Cheesecake otw. I am, however, always concerned that the fruit strain doesn’t smell fruity. I hate that. My fears were assuaged as soon as I cut the bag open. I immediately smelled fruit – sour, purple muscadine – specifically. I don’t smell strawberry, but I’m nitpicking.

The only ‘strawberry’ genetics I can think of is Strawberry Cough, which isn’t in Strawberry Cheesecake. After smelling it, I told JJ “I don’t smell strawberry. I smell grape. I bet that Purple Panty Dropper has something ‘grape’ in it.” And a quick check shows it’s got Oregon Grape.

I’m like Toucan Sam just following my nose.

The smell reminds me a lot of the Orange Creamsicle we got last year. It’s more berry and orange, but there’s a sour fruit smell that they both have that is unmistakable. My guess is this smell comes from the Purple Thai genetics that both share.

Strawberry Cheesecake has everything that I personally like – good smell and great functional calming effects. I feel physically and mentally relaxed, but not lazy. It does exactly what an indica dominant hybrid is supposed to and I consider predictability a positive with hemp products.

I consider this Strawberry Cheesecake an ‘anytime strain’, indica sensitive people, may zonk out. If you want something fruity, but the indica dom worries you, get the Lemon Berry White because this is like the ying to it’s yang.

I just noticed that I’m not in ‘silly’ mood because I haven’t cracked any jokes. I haven’t gone on a rant. I haven’t lost my train of thought and run down a rabbit hole. I’m not sure if that’s the strain or that I’m focused on finishing this because I have things to do. I want to assure you that I feel great and me being more bland than normal isn’t because something is wrong. Maybe I’m growing up?

I think Strawberry Cheesecake is gonna be my go to until we run out.

These are legit cannabis buds that are harvested before the D9 THC gets ‘hot’ (over .3%). Delta 9 THC and Delta 9 THCa are very similar compounds. In fact, THCa is a precursor to THC. However, they are 100% different, so the Farm Bill counts this as hemp.
