Appearance: Well-developed buds that are light and dark green, orange hairs, and clear, sticky trichomes.

Smell: Sweet, clear, piney and a little skunky.

Taste: Sweet pine at first, then skunk.

Daniel’s 1-hit Review: Maltese Tiger is a VERY new strain to me. I’d never heard of it or its parents, Tiger Cake and Blueberry Frosting. I didn’t know what to expect. Once I saw it, touched it, and smelled it, I knew it was gonna be good. Sometimes flowers look incredible, but they don’t really smell that strong and/or they are kinda hard. This is a result of getting dried too fast. This is a problem in the winter when the humidity is so low that it just pulls moisture from everything.

This is not a problem with this batch of Maltese Tiger. It’s sticky and stinky.

It has a clean sharp flavor that is almost refreshing. The effects line up with sativa dominance. I’ve had a long, busy day and I’m still writing this review at 8pm on a Saturday while I’m waiting for the winter storm. That’s sativa motivation, baby!

These THCA flowers keep getting better and better. Speaking of that, I’m sure yall have heard about the Nov. 2026 Hemp Ban that will put all of us out of business. There are industry groups that are working hard in D.C. trying to get a 3 year postponement to give the industry and congress time to put a regulatory system in place instead of an outright ban.

I know we hear ‘regulation’ and go, “oh. shit. They’re gonna ruin this like everything else.” While that is generally true, it’s better than a ban at this point. The proposed regulations aren’t bad and the good hemp companies already do them. They are simple and common sense – 21 and up age limit, lab testing on all products, and no advertising to kids.

I don’t know anyone who would say these rules are bad or unreasonable.

Speaking of advertising to kids and banning intoxicating products…why does alcohol get a free pass on everything?

They want to ban ‘intoxicating hemp products’ to protect kids. Ok. Cool. Yeah. Protect kids from intoxicating products.

Think about that next time you watch a college football game brought to by Twisted Tea or Bud Light. Why has no one realized that is the definition of advertising to kids. Who is in college? We even call them ‘College kids’ for God’s sake.

Make that make sense.

Here’s the cool part. The Delta 9 THCa can be over 30%. This is not chemically altered or sprayed with anything. These are legit cannabis buds that are harvested before the D9 THC gets ‘hot’ (over .3%). Delta 9 THC and Delta 9 THCa are very similar compounds. In fact, THCa is a precursor to THC. However, they are 100% different, so the Farm Bill counts this as hemp.
