MOB Strain Info – Boutique*
aka Money Over Bitches, Mother of Berries
Genetics: MOB is an indica with all Blueberry genetics
Appearance: Big, round, fluffy buds with kelly green leaves and concord grape purples. White trichomes. Ours look so much better than the Leafly photo.
Smell: Soft – Grape and blueberry candy. If it were louder, it would MO Be winning awards.
Taste: Light berry taste. A bit harsh because it’s very fresh. Look how green the chlorophyl still is.
Terpene Profile: Myrcene, limonene, caryophyllene
Daniel’s 1-hit Review: Coming soon. I’ve only tried this once. Idk if I will retell or redo yet (may 1st).
May 12th is right now live review:
The good news is that in the 2 weeks that I’ve been curing MOB, the chlorophyl smell has calmed way down and is allowing the absolutely awesome blueberry smells to come out. The smell is getting stronger than when I wrote the description and I maintain even more that if this was as loud as cap junky, it would rival it. Look at the pic. That’s from my galaxy s25 with a $15 ring light from Walmart and that photo says a 1000 words.
I love indica. I love blueberry – both the strain and the fruit. The basic transitive property of math would correctly conclude I love MOB, so I’m personally biased on this one. This is a live review, but I’ve had a lot of fun with MOB, so I knew what to expect here. For me – this is an very energetic indica. It makes me really perk up, get motivated to do anything – from boring work, to fun work, to exercise, or clean the bath room. I’m doing sets of 50 pushups and alternating with dumbbells between sentences and paragraphs. Sounds like a sativa, right? Yeah, terpenes are crazy and our CYP450 systems are crazier.
Today’s subject has been aggravating me for probably since 2012. I’m positive that I’ve ranted on this before, but not in a long time, not in a purely public forum, and not at a time when society was ready to have an honest conversation about it. What has been vexing me for over a decade?
The double standard society had between medical cannabis and ALL other FDA approved medications, specifically concerning smoking.
First off, smoking is bad. I’m not going to sit here and look like either a liar or moron and say smoking is good for your lungs. Whether it’s tobacco, cannabis, or chamomile, burning organic matter releases carcinogens and other stuff that isn’t good to breath.
Now, that I’ve the ‘duh’ disclaimer, let’s look at this like intelligent adults.
Here’s the context: When I started Halcyon Organics, I had strict rules on myself to NEVER advocate for smoking flowers because I knew opponents would immediately key on “Smoking causes cancer” and statement, fairly, immediately invokes a visceral response and would discredit everything I said after that. So, I had to always be on the offense and start with, “Smoking is bad. We aren’t going to sit here and say “Smoking is medicine.” I hated myself for doing it, but politics is art of the possible or as Machiavelli said, “The ends justify the means.”
Smoking still is not healthy, but I was us to look at smoking medical cannabis from the lens of ALL medications. I may bounce all over the place with this, so stay with me.
- You don’t (or shouldn’t) smoke a pack of cigarettes worth of cannabis a day. Even if you smoked 3 joints a day, which is a lot, it would be like 3 cigarettes. I don’t have data, but I would guess that living in NYC and just breathing the city air is probably worse than 3 cigarettes/day of clean air.
- I don’t think 3 cigarettes/day would cause lung cancer. The reason we don’t really know is because cigarette people don’t just smoke 3/day.
- Tobacco and cannabis are very different beasts. High quality medical cannabis doesn’t have any additives or fake chemicals on it. Big tobacco has been busted so many times juicing up the nicotine and adding other shit that makes their products even more addictive.
To summarize the above, comparing cannabis smoking to cigarette smoking are completely false equivalents, but that’s the only way that our opponents can justify illegal cannabis – falseholds.
Now, I want to get into the double standard of ‘you can’t smoke medicine because smoking is bad for you.’
Taking ANY medication requires the risk analysis of ‘is the cure worse than the cause?”
For instance, You have strep throat. The doctor prescribes you amoxicillin. The amoxicillin has the side effect of killing the good bacteria in your gut and can cause diarrhea and other GI problems.
You have to make the decision between a few days of diarrhea or dying from the 105 fever the strep will cause if untreated.” This is a no brainer, but I’m using it to demonstrate that using any medication requires a trade off between getting better and the side effects.
Here’s yalls homework assignment and you don’t have to do it because it’s become a pop culture joke at this point. Go watch on of the 20 drug commercials that air during a marvel movie on USA. Listen to or read the side effects – suicide, death, leukemia, psychosis, diabetic retinopathy, anaphylaxis, infection of the perinium, tardive dyskinesia, nausea, vomiting. Fuck, go look at the side effects of the GLP-1s, that they are giving out like candy. These peptides have only been around for a years and the side effects we already know about are terrifying. What’s it gonna look like after people been using them for 10 years? idk. I hope not bad, but history and preliminary data predict a different outcome.
I can already see the class action commercials, “Did you or a family member suffer from _____ after taking GLPs? You may be entitled to compensation from the manufacturers of these drugs. Call Kaplan and Kaplan to see if you qualify for compensation. We’ll give you $35,000 after we keep $45 million of the settlement.”
My point is about side effects and it really depends what you’re using cannabis for. I don’t want this article to run forever because I think I’m making my point pretty well. Let’s use the easiest examples of the medical uses of cannabis – anxiety, pain, depression, and sleep.
What does the pharmaceutical industrial complex sell for these conditions? SSRIs, Benzos, Thienobenzos, SNRI, TCAs, opioids, hypnotics, anti-psychotics.
First off, anyone who has been addicted to any of the above and gotten clean knows the side effects of withdrawals.
If you’ve been on any of the above for over a year, don’t try quitting without your doctor supervising it because you could literally die.
The shit I just mentioned above, is more dangerous a side effect of 5 ‘smoke hits’ a day IMO.
If you aren’t convinced, go read the side effects of the drug classes I mentioned above and you tell me that a little bit of smoke is worse. Shit, an SSRI will make your dick stop working. Bro, I’ll take a righteous boner with a couples coughs over a limp dick and feeling suicidal ALL DAY.
I apologize to my female readers for the direct language, but I believe that it’s important to be uncomfortably direct when I’m making a serious point. Besides, I bet that yall prefer a man with good sexual function and confidence to the alternative option.
The point that I hope everyone takes away from this is that ALL MEDICATIONS have some side effects and we make a choice to accept or reject those side effects compared to the medicine’s benefits. Next time you feel guilty about smoking or someone rolls their eyes if you say you “smoke your medicine”, pause and take an objective look at the side effects of the meds the cannabis is replacing and make your decision based on each medication’s side effect risk profile.
Btw – if you’re 100% against any type of combustion, there’s always vaporizers. Vaporizing any plant at the correct temperature doesn’t release carcinogens the same way as burning things does.
Note on product photos: We take the flower photos using our phone camera and white posterboard. What you see is what you get and most look better IRL than the photos. We don’t use filters, professional photography, pro lights, $5000 camera/lens, or stock photography.
*Not all coupons work on boutique flowers. The flowers are expensive and in limited supply, so we can’t discount them like other stuff.
This is one of the MOST EXCITING developments in the Legal Hemp Industry!
These beautiful buds qualify as industrial hemp and comply with ALL provisions of the 2018 U.S. Farm Bill. There are 2 legal requirements that a product must meet to be legal hemp:
1 . The cannabis plant must be grown under a Federal Hemp License.
2. The finished product must have less than .3% Delta-9 THC
These flowers comply with both. Look at the attached COA and you’ll see the Delta 9 THC is less than .3%.
Here’s the cool part. The Delta 9 THCa can be over 30%. This is not chemically altered or sprayed with anything. These are legit cannabis buds that are harvested before the D9 THC gets ‘hot’ (over .3%). Delta 9 THC and Delta 9 THCa are very similar compounds. In fact, THCa is a precursor to THC. However, they are 100% different, so the Farm Bill counts this as hemp.
Better Than Nine may not ship THCA flowers to jurisdictions where they are illegal. Please know your local ordinances before ordering or we may not be able to ship to you. Contact us if you have questions.
