Daniel’s 1-hit Review: June 2026 batch. This is a retelling.
If you aren’t familiar with ‘living soil’, I recommend you read about it either on the page we built (link above) or somewhere that’s reliable. I don’t think you will find anything negative about living soil and plants we consume because it is only positive if done correctly.
What makes Mountaintop Mint special is the smell. This is the first strain I have ever found that actually smells like mint. You don’t have to use your imagination to smell the mint. It smells like minty cannabis. Although Humboldt Seed Company lists this as a 50:50 hybrid, it felt like a mild sativa to me.
It isn’t overwhelming or jittery. It’s a clean boost of lively and positive energy. I’d equate the energy to a cup of strong tea. Just like the other living soil flowers, the smell and taste is very clean and natural, but also layered and complex. The smells seem to maintain their individuality instead of all blending together. It’s super cool and difficult to explain with words.
Like the other living soil flowers, the physical appearance isn’t that impressive. In fact, compared to our hydroponic boutique flowers, it would be easy to overlook these as ‘regs’ because they don’t have all the wild colors, lumps growing out of them, and dense like a rock.
They have the elite genetics and are grown by a professional who takes extreme pride in his work.
It’s still a mind fuck to me.
If I only saw the photos, I’d say “Nah. I’ll stick with the hydro.” because they don’t look like what I’ve gotten used to as “high quality.”
I promise the experience is every bit as good as anything Better Than Nine has offered. Yall OGs are going to LOVE this because it combines nostalgia of the ‘good ol days’ with today’s high powered genetics. Some of our pickiest clients are echoing my sentiment of “the flavors are unbelievable.”
Mountaintop Mint was not a good bedtime strain for me because it got my brain going more than I’d like at night, but is better than coffee for a late afternoon boost. I have a low tolerance, so the difference between 32% thca and 25% thca isn’t a big deal to me. These living soil flowers have passed the “Hawaiian Test”, so if it’s good enough for those guys…
The “Hawaiian Test” is a term I lovingly use for a group of clients we have that are from Hawaii. These guys can smoke. Whenever I have something new or different that I want rigorously tested, I give it them because they are picky (in a good way).
Again, Mountaintop Mint is all about the smell and taste. It’s a smooth, energetic ride that lasts a long time. I just like to smell it.
Note on product photos: We take the flower photos using our phone camera and white posterboard. What you see is what you get and most look better IRL than the photos. We don’t use filters, professional photography, pro lights, $5000 camera/lens, or stock photography.
*Not all coupons work on boutique flowers. The flowers are expensive and in limited supply, so we can’t discount them like other stuff.
This is one of the MOST EXCITING developments in the Legal Hemp Industry!
These beautiful buds qualify as industrial hemp and comply with ALL provisions of the 2018 U.S. Farm Bill. There are 2 legal requirements that a product must meet to be legal hemp:
1 . The cannabis plant must be grown under a Federal Hemp License.
2. The finished product must have less than .3% Delta-9 THC
These flowers comply with both. Look at the attached COA and you’ll see the Delta 9 THC is less than .3%.
Here’s the cool part. The Delta 9 THCa can be over 30%. This is not chemically altered or sprayed with anything. These are legit cannabis buds that are harvested before the D9 THC gets ‘hot’ (over .3%). Delta 9 THC and Delta 9 THCa are very similar compounds. In fact, THCa is a precursor to THC. However, they are 100% different, so the Farm Bill counts this as hemp.
Better Than Nine may not ship THCA flowers to jurisdictions where they are illegal. Please know your local ordinances before ordering or we may not be able to ship to you. Contact us if you have questions.
